SORRY, THE TRUCK WAS SOLD

NOTE FROM MILES: Thanks for stopping by. It is with deepest regret that I tell you that Garrett, "G-Man", was killed in a traffic accident on Nov. 20, 2003. I'm his brother, Miles. Like all projects that never end, our truck restoration project outlived Garrett (who was all the brains and talent of said project). I was just the grunt labor.

The truck is for sale ($3,500 w/clean title). While waiting for a buyer, I've decided to try my hand at wrenching. I'll continue until either I come to my senses or someone buys the truck. I really can't keep it. The first step was to haul the bed parts back to my garage (truck is at my sister-in-law's house) on 2-27-04 and see if I can get it together.

While working on the truck, I'll also be working on this web-site. I hope to use it to showcase the truck and give detailed info to prospective buyers. I apologize about the pics. Most of them have disappeared to cyberspace parts unknown. Please check back as I hope to update this page frequently.

Here's our restoration project.  It started in October 1995 when we found this 1940 chevy 1/2-ton pickup truck.

The picture on the left was in the garage where it had been stored. The rest of the pics are as it sits on 2/29/04.

Now some light reading for you while we wait for the photos. I must apologize to all those who read my ad on Stovebolt.com. It would appear that I am a few years behind when it comes to this project. I realized while grabbing parts out of his attic and basement that Garrett made a lot more progress than I ever remember. I'll give details by truck section/system."
